Pleasing Srila Prabhupada is Easy

I am only one person, but because all of you have kindly cooperated with me, this movement has now become a success all over the world. . . . Even if one does not read the book but simply holds it and sees it, he is benefited.  (Bombay – May 6, 1977)

The staleness of everyday life is transformed into the fresh and exciting ecstasy of the spiritual world by a sense of anticipation that at any moment we could be an instrument of the Lord’s pleasure.  For our own benefit, we’re all called to become full-time Sankirtan devotees: ‘kirtaniya sada hari…’

Carrying a few transcendental books with us everywhere we go is the easiest way to give traction and meaning to this prayer of becoming an instrument of Mahaprabhu’s mercy and pleasure.

The same joyful sense of opportunity and excitement that pervaded the movement’s early years can be felt by anyone today, regardless of their material situation, if they simply keep a few of Srila Prabhupada’s books and Krishna’s prasada with them wherever they go and offer those to the people they meet in their every day lives. This is Lord Caitanya’s simple directive for success in Bhakti.

Vaisesika Prabhu's 4 Laws of Book Distribution

1. Your sadhana must be strong

2. You must get books

3.The more you show, the more you sell

4. You must organize

Follow all 4 by taking this one simple step

Bag of Magic!

To make it easy to carry books, we have designed a side bag that you can always keep in your car or by your side when you go out. Ideally, you should have 4-6 books, some prasad and few invitation cards.

Learning Love through Cooperation

My dear sons of the King, I am very much pleased by the friendly relationships among you. All of you are engaged in one occupation — devotional service. I am so pleased with your mutual friendship that I wish you all good fortune. (4.30.8)

Purport: Since the sons of King Prācīnabarhiṣat were all united in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, the Lord was very pleased with them.

Similarly, if we were all to come together and carry these timeless blessings of vedas with us wherever we go and share them with others, that would please Srila Prabhupada and Lord Chaitanya.

An Ecstatic Experiment

Do you want to have more taste for chanting?
Do you want to experience the ecstasy our Acharyas talk about in the books?
Do you want to conquer your mind?

  1. Get 4-6 Books
  2. Buy a bag of magic
  3. Carry the Bag with you for next two weeks

Book Distribution: Our Family Business

Srila Narottam Das Thakur

Srila Thakur Mahasaya

“Until we are able to develop another type of technology to print the books, due to the difficulty involved in creating books by hand (which is being neglected), most of our book distribution program will be postponed. We are sure that one day some magnanimous person will come and will develop the movement of ecstatic love of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, distributing books all over the world. Until then, what will we, persons who are poor, bereft and abominable, do?

In 1986, Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur’s book Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu: His Life and Precepts reached various thinkers and institutions, including the library of McGill University in Montreal, marking the beginning of the most important missionary activity in the Western world, book distribution.

In Sri Gaudiya Matha, those who are preaching by composing devotional books or writing articles for periodicals and journals are certainly performing krsna-kirtana. (Gaudiya 14.37)

Srila Prabhupada

ISKCON Founder Acharya

There is no doubt about it: to distribute books is one most important activity. The temple is not a place for eating & sleeping, but a base from which we send out our soldiers to fight with maya. Fight with maya means to drop thousands and millions of books into the lap of conditioned souls. Just like during war time the bombs are raining from the sky like anything.– August 03, 1973 to Ramesvara
